We had a blast playing our final P60 show in the presence of (Echo) Bowie fans, friends and family. People from all over Holland, Belgium, Germany, UK and yes, even Australia (!) travelled to Holland join us in celebrating David Bowie (Official)’s 68th birthday and waving our first bye bye.
Villi Asgeirsson’s Berlin film and Mennomail’s & DJ Sandeman’s mash-up David Bowie – A Tribute In Sound And Vision were perfect for the Bowie68 night, and of course DJ TV Queen Bitch gave the night a cool, bitchy and lovely edge again. Yes, the bitch was back!
As for us, we wanted to create a set with Bowie favourites, some recent songs, some lesser known stuff and songs we hadn’t played for a while or in some cases never before. One hasn’t even been performed live by Mr. Bowie (yet). So that’s how a.o. Always Crashing In The Same Care, Queen Bitch, Fashion and The Stars Are Out Tonight ended up in the set. We had a ball!! Thank you for the great reception and reactions afterwards!!
We created a special playlist with the songs in the set.
Special thanks go out to Armand and Michel (Lights/Sound/Video), the P60 crew and Villi, Menno and Trevor (a.k.a. DJ TV Queen Bitch).
AND THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR COMING OVER!
Only three shows left now…

Echo Bowie wave bye bye. But…..leave with a BANG! After almost 15 year and more than 150 shows in clubs, cafés, theatres and at festivals, praise from both fans and Bowie’s own team, the guys wish to call it a day. They’re so happy with the Golden Years Are Now show that the moment seems right for a Rock’n’Roll Suicide. But of course there will be an encore. For you and us to kiss goodbye and to celebrate David Bowie’s music once more. And in true Echo Bowie style, there’ll be more than one encore. Not ‘one last show we’ll ever do’, but ‘four last shows we’ll ever do’. The first will be a special one: a celebration of David Bowie’s 68th birthday and the first of EB’s goodbye on January 10 in P60 in Amstelveen. The venue in which we had such a ball together celebrating Bowie’s 65th birthday. And there’ll be two more Golden Years Are Now theatre shows plus a club show.
The ‘Wave Bye Bye’ dates:
Saturday January 10,
Amstelveen (near Amsterdam)
Bowie Night – Echo Bowie Club Show
Saturday March 14, 2015
Theater het Kruispunt
Golden Years Are Now Theater show
Saturday March 28, 2015
Echo Bowie club show
Sunday April 26, 2015 (Matinee show)
Theater Cool Kunst & Cultuur
Golden Years Are Now Theater show

After shows in Purmerend, Valkenswaard, Doetinchem, Waalwijk, Drachten, Hoofddorp, Bergen op Zoom and Rijswijk last Friday, we brought the Golden Years Are Now season to an end. And a great end it was. We had a ball in Rijswijk. The fabulous audience chose WILD IS THE WIND and HALLO SPACEBOY for the encore, which was fantastic as we hadn’t played Spaceboy yet during the theatre tour…
We are amazed by all the theatre audiences so far. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
Just for fun and as a nice memory we compiled a 32-track Spotify playlist with all the songs we played over these last eight shows, including the songs the audience chose during the shows.
So what’s next? We’ve got some festivals coming up:
– Cover Festival, Seneffe in Belgium on May 17
– Parade Festival, Rotterdam on June 28
